Omaha poker is a popular nine card poker game derived from the Texas Hold’em Poker. Before the game begins, four down faced hole cards are dealt to all the players and they can use only two of their four hold cards in combination of three community cards on the board to make their best five card poker hand. The player sitting immediately left to the dealer post a forced bet known as small blind. The player sitting immediately left to small blind post the big blind, which is another forced bet. Usually, big blind is just twice the size of small blind. Now the first betting round starts with the player sitting immediately left to the big blind.
When the first betting round is completed, flop cards (three faced-up community cards) are dealt on the board, same as in the game of Texas Hold’em Poker. Now the second betting round starts. When the second betting round is completed, the Turn card or the fourth community card is dealt followed by the third betting round. After the third betting round, the River Card is dealt followed by the final betting round. After the final betting round, the remaining active players will show their all their hands. The players will use three of their five community cards in combination with two of their four hole cards to form a five-card poker hand. The pot will be awarded to the player having the best five-card poker hand.
